![]() ![]() I know that there are several great ideas here, but I use a workflow that solves this issue for all of my MP4 and MKV movies/TV Shows.ġ) I use an import folder in to scrape the metadata and rename my files. In the morning, set it to wipe title tags and give it many more hours for the task. Set the mp3tag app to load your media and go to bed. Messy.īatch wiping with mp3tag is really slow. Local assets is a hit or miss proposition too, many times a featurette gets labeled as a second movie. Plex could do a whole lot better too, by letting us choose what data comes from where. Whether or why it works in Plex one day and not the next is anyone’s guess. I’ve had success fixing stuff already in Plex but avoiding the dance by batch wiping metadata tags en masse and rescanning/ reloading metadata in Plex. Huge pain in the ass though, and the jackasses who stick metadata tags there to advertise themselves are only advertising that they’re stupid annoying dicks.Īnyway- wipe the tags and rely on the filenames only. Only thing I’ve found that works consistently: use mp3tag to wipe all titles and comments from incoming media before placing it in plex. I have local media stuff for many items so turning off or bottom-listing local on agents doesn’t work for me. ![]() What I had to do was remove all the movies that were showing up weird from my library, rename them, AND "clear bundles" under settings>manage>troubleshooting. same deal! Plex recognized the file somehow?! Then I tried removing all the weird movies and renaming them on my computer outside my NAS and reuploading them to the NAS. Super frustrating as initially the "local media file assist" agent to the bottom of agent options didn't work for me either. I tried using "fix match" and strangely it would fix it but as soon as I used "fix match" on another movie the last one I fixed would revert back. I saw an older form where I guess there is a bug if you rename the file while it's connected with plex it will always revert itself? I ran into this when I manually removed all the periods but they kept showing up in my library. None of my movies have ever had an issue with smart titles and then just all of a sudden. I wish I saw this thread last night as I was up late getting frustrated trying to fix this.
